Create Images That Follow Your Brand Guidelines

You wrote your guidelines. Now the real test: can you create images that follow your brand guidelines without repeating them in every prompt? With Melon Cut Design you can, if you set the work up in the right order. This guide shows that order and the checks to run afterward.

What changes when you name a brand

In a prompt, type @ and pick your brand. From that point the picture is made with that brand's guidelines in mind: the logo, the colors, the fonts, the voice and how the logo may be used. You no longer write "use our teal and our rounded font" each time. You describe what the picture shows.

That changes how you write the prompt. Cover only what is different this time:

  • The subject: what is in the picture.
  • The purpose: a post, a story, a link image.
  • The text, if any, word for word.
  • The mood for this specific piece.

A worked example

Suppose you run a plant nursery called Fernhill, with guidelines that say: deep green, cream, a friendly serif, daylight photography, logo bottom right.

Weak prompt:

Make a post for our shop using our green and our logo, and make it look nice with plants.

Better prompt:

@Fernhill Social post. A hand holding a small potted fern in front of a greenhouse window, morning light. Headline: "New ferns in this week".

The second one says nothing about colors or logo because the guidelines hold them. It uses the space for what only this post needs.

Pick the right format first

Switch to Social and choose the format: post 4:5, story 9:16, square 1:1, tall 3:4, link image or a custom size. Social pictures are made with safe areas so important content stays clear of the app interface.

Check the result against your own rules

Do this every time, because AI output is not guaranteed to be exact.

  1. Colors: do they match your palette, especially on large areas?
  2. Logo: is it there only if the guidelines say it should be, and is it placed as allowed?
  3. Text: is every letter, price and date correct?
  4. Claims: are health, legal or safety statements correct?
  5. Feel: does it look like your brand, or like a generic stock picture?

If one check fails, describe the fix in the next prompt rather than starting over.

Add models and templates when the brand needs more

A mascot or product that must look the same can be added as a Model, and a layout to repeat can be added as a Template. Read Keep a Mascot the Same in Every AI Image and Use a Brand Template for AI Images.
