Use Your Logo in AI Images
You want your logo on a picture, and you want it to look like your logo, not a close cousin. To use your logo in AI images well, you need to know who decides where it goes, how to ask for it, and what to check once the picture appears. This article takes those three in turn.
Let the guidelines decide where it goes
When you name your brand with @ in Melon Cut Design, the logo is placed the way your guidelines allow. There is no fixed logo on a white plate, no sticker in a default corner. If your rules say the icon sits bottom right on posts and the full logo is centered on stories, that is what the picture follows. If your rules say not to put the logo on busy photographs without a calm area behind it, the placement takes that into account.
This is why writing logo rules matters. See Logo Usage Rules Every Brand Needs.
Ask for the logo in the prompt, or leave it out
Sometimes you want it, sometimes you don't. Say so.
@Harbor Coffee Story. A cup of coffee on a wooden dock at sunrise. Headline: "Open at 6". Show the logo as the guidelines allow.
@Harbor Coffee Square post. A close-up of a pastry on a plate, no logo, no text. This is for the grid, not an ad.
A photo-led post without a logo can be better than one with a logo crammed in.
Think about space
The logo needs room. Social formats keep safe areas: posts keep 13% on each side and 12% at top and bottom, and stories keep 8% on each side and 14% at top and bottom. A logo placed outside those areas risks being hidden by app buttons. Ask for a scene with a calm area, like sky, wall or tabletop, where the logo can sit.
@Harbor Coffee Story, 9:16. A barista seen from behind at a bright window, large empty wall area on the left.
Attach a clean logo when needed
If you need a one-off logo, such as a partner's or an event mark, attach the file to the prompt as a reference. Use the cleanest version you have: high resolution, flat color, no background. A blurred or compressed logo gives a blurred result.
Video endings
For branded videos, the clip can end with the logo. Plan the last second as a short, clean frame on a calm background, and choose which logo version suits it.
Always check the result
AI output is not guaranteed to reproduce a logo perfectly. Look at:
- Shape and proportions: nothing stretched or redrawn.
- Colors: close to your codes.
- Spelling: every letter in a wordmark.
- Clear space: nothing touching it.
- Position: where your rules say.
If anything is off, describe the correction in the next prompt, or place the real logo file yourself in your normal editing tool.
Tell people about transparent logos
If you need a logo sticker on a plain background, ask for a transparent background version of the picture. For a related workflow, see Organize Your Logos and Brand Files.
