Create Daily Specials Post with AI for Restaurant

The daily special is the one post a restaurant has to get out quickly, and get right. It changes every day, it has a deadline, and it has a price or a dish name that cannot be wrong. This article shows how to create a daily specials post with AI for a restaurant, using a layout you can repeat without starting over.

Decide the template once

Do the design thinking one time, then reuse it. A good daily special layout has four parts:

  1. A picture of the dish.
  2. The dish name in large type.
  3. A short line: what is in it.
  4. The day or time, and your restaurant name.

Keep the same position for each part every day. Regulars learn where to look, and you stop making decisions every morning.

If you have a layout you like, save it to your brand as a Template, and name it with @ in later prompts. The template is a layout to follow with new content.

The prompt pattern

Use one sentence structure and swap the dish.

Overhead photo of [dish] on a white plate on a dark wooden table, soft daylight, with space at the top for the dish name. Vertical post.

For example:

Overhead photo of a bowl of lentil soup with a swirl of yoghurt and a wedge of flatbread on a white plate on a dark wooden table, soft daylight, with space at the top for the dish name. Vertical post.

Overhead photo of grilled chicken with rice, grilled tomato and a small salad on a white plate on a dark wooden table, soft daylight, with space at the top for the dish name. Vertical post.

Use a story when it is for today only

A special that exists only today belongs in a story (9:16, 1080 x 1920). A story fades, which fits. If you also want it to stay on your page, post a 4:5 version too. In stories, keep text away from the edges; Melon Cut keeps safe areas of 8% each side and 14% top and bottom.

Check the text, every time

This is the most important step. If the picture contains the dish name, the price or a time, read each character. AI can misspell words or alter numbers. A wrong price on a public post can force you to honour it. If you are unsure, leave the text out of the picture and put it in the caption.

Match the picture to what the kitchen makes

If today's special is a stew, the picture should show a stew, not a roast. If you have a real photo from earlier, attach it as a reference and describe the new picture. Make sure portion and garnish look like what you serve.

When it is a weekly rhythm

Many restaurants have a fixed pattern: a soup day, a pasta day, a fish Friday. Prepare these in advance in a batch. A plan from one prompt can hold up to 30 posts, stories, pictures and videos together, so you can prepare a full set of weekly specials in one sitting.

Add a sense of time

Words like "today only" and "until it is gone" create urgency, but only use them if true. Do not invent scarcity.
