Create Product Video with AI for Online Store
A product video does one job a photo cannot: it shows movement. How a bag swings, how a liquid pours, how a jacket catches the light as someone turns. If you want to create a product video with AI for an online store, think of it as a very short film with one idea, not a mini advert with ten.
Pick one movement
Before you write anything, name the single movement that sells your product.
- A kettle: steam rising as water is poured.
- A leather bag: a hand lifting it from a table and turning it.
- A perfume: a slow turn in a beam of light.
- A skateboard: wheels spinning on concrete.
- A candle: the flame being lit.
If you cannot describe the movement in one line, the video is too busy.
Write the shot like a director
Name the camera, the speed and what ends the shot.
Slow push-in on a ceramic pour-over coffee set on a wooden counter, a thin stream of hot water circling over the grounds, steam drifting in side light, warm morning mood. 9:16 vertical, 8 seconds.
Close-up of a hand placing a small gold ring box on a velvet cushion and opening the lid, soft spot light, dark background, calm pace, ends on the ring sparkling. 9:16 vertical.
Start from a photo
If you have a good product photo, make the video from it. Attach the photo and describe the movement you want. The product stays recognisable and you control the motion. More on this in turn a photo into a video with AI.
Length and format
For social, vertical 9:16 at 1080 x 1920 is the standard. The default length is 10 seconds, and clips can go up to 30 seconds. Short is usually stronger for product videos: shorter than you think, with the product visible from the first second.
Keep important things inside the safe areas: 8% at each side, 14% from the top and 20% from the bottom, where the app places its captions and buttons.
End with your logo
A branded video can end with your logo. If your brand guidelines say how the logo is used, name the brand with @ and it follows those rules. It makes a clip recognisable when it is shared away from your page.
Watch the whole clip, twice
Motion makes new mistakes. Watch for:
- The product changing shape or detail partway through.
- Hands with the wrong number of fingers.
- Text that shifts or becomes unreadable.
- A logo that appears on the product when it should not.
- Movement that is unrealistic, such as liquid falling the wrong way.
If you see a problem, change the prompt and make it again. Do not publish a video whose product differs from the one you ship.
Where to use it
Product page, social, a story ad, an email header. Make a version for each and keep the product identical. The picture-side companion is AI product photos for an online store.
Doing it in Melon Cut
In Melon Cut Design, choose a video from a prompt or from a photo, with a 9:16 social format. Name your brand with @ and ask for it to end with your logo. Videos cost credits, and the pricing page shows plans and top-ups.
