Put Your Product in a New Scene with AI

You have one good photo of your product on a table. You need it on a beach, in a kitchen and in a gift box. You do not want to book a studio three times. You can put your product in a new scene with AI by attaching your photo as a reference and describing the new picture. This article shows how to do that, and where it can go wrong.

How it works in plain words

An attached picture is a reference for the new one. You do not edit your photo. You describe a new picture in which the same product appears. That is a different thing from a cut-and-paste, and it has different strengths: light and shadow fit the scene, and reflections and angle can change.

The weak point is that the product may change slightly. So your job is to check.

Write the prompt in four parts

  1. The product: "the attached bottle". Say it is the same one.
  2. The place: where it is and what is around it.
  3. The light and mood: time of day, soft or hard, warm or cool.
  4. The frame: close or wide, format, and where empty space is needed.

Using the attached photo, show the same ceramic planter on a sunny kitchen windowsill with herbs in small pots beside it, morning light from the left, a blurred kitchen behind, close view. 4:5 post.

Place the attached trainer on a wet city pavement at night, neon sign reflections in the puddles, low camera angle, the shoe sharp and the background soft. Story 9:16.

Scenes that work well for most products

  • A kitchen or desk surface for small objects.
  • Outdoor ground for gear and shoes.
  • A hand-held view for anything that fits a hand.
  • A gift scene with wrapping and a card.
  • A seasonal setting: autumn leaves, snow, spring flowers.

Scenes that are hard: complex reflective products in busy environments, and anything with small printed text.

Checks for product accuracy

Hold the result next to the real item.

  • Is the shape the same? Look at handles, lids and corners.
  • Is the colour the same? Light changes it, but it should still be recognisable.
  • Is the text on the label right? If not, ask again or use the photo of the label as the final picture.
  • Is the scale right?

If a detail keeps changing, attach a second photo from another angle, and read keep the same product in every AI image.

Do not mislead

A new scene is styling, not proof. Do not show a product doing something it cannot do, such as a non-waterproof bag in the sea. Do not imply sponsorship or a famous place. Keep the scene honest about the product.

Build a set

Make five scenes with the same product: morning, evening, outdoors, gifting, flat lay. This gives you a week of posts from one photo. The prompts that work best for this are collected in best AI prompts for product photos.

Doing it in Melon Cut

In Melon Cut Design, attach your photo and write the scene. Use General for any size or Social for post and story formats. One prompt makes up to 4 pictures. If you add your product as a Model in your brand, you can call it with @ and it stays the same.
